Just sold my 537 hour In72 and now its time for some real HD! Yeah!

Mits HC1500
Optoma HD65
Sharp DT-510
Optoma HD72

Give me reasons why I should or should not buy one or the other....Or feel free to add to the list...

I would add the Epson 720, it's probably the hottest under $1500 one now. I will most likely be getting it, as it has a $100 rebate AND a free extra bulb.

The IN72 produces a great picture, but it is only 480p. I would definitely stay with DLP, so although the Epson is a nice projector, it's an LCD and I'd rule it out.

From your list of projectors, I'd probably take the Mits. The Sharp has a lot of fans, but I don't think I've ever seen it so really shouldn't comment on it. The HC1500 is a fine, bright projector. I like Optoma projectors, and even own a DV10 (another 480p projector). I know I've seen the HD65. It's small, bright and throws a good picture. I've think I've also seen the HD72, (it's tough to remember from the 70, 71 and 72 which I've actually seen.) and like I said, I like Optoma projectors. The HD71, by the way is a very bright projector, something to consider if you have some ambient light.

I don't think there's a bad one in your list. But because it's a DLP and won't have much zoom range or any lens shift, make sure it's going to fit in your room.

I know the Gamepimp has seen the first three and I think he has seen the HD72 also. I know out of the first three he has said hands down Sharp DT-510

The Sharp DT-510 has the best 'native' CR by a long shot. Quite a large gap between the 510 and the others on the list which are all good units. The optoma models even with dynamic iris implementation cannot match the Sharp.

The lack of vertical lens shift on the sharp is not too much of a concern as it has an almost non existant throw angle easing installation.

In all honesty anyone of the projectors would impress.

P.S. The DT-510 has the highest decibel rating of any projector listed for the fan noise.
