I have a second bedroom where I am planning to put an Epson HC 720 with a 92" or 106" screen. The room is only 11' x 12'6" and is laid out in such a way that I need to put the screen in front of mirrored closet doors. My wife needs to be able to get into the closet, so I cannot use a fixed frame screen. I am thinking of using a manual pull-down screen. The the closet is 94" wide.
According to projectorcentral, if I can give the projector 10' of throw distance, I can use a 92" screen. The width of a 92" screen is roughly 80 inches which leaves 7" of exposed mirror on either side. even worse, there will be about 2' of exposed mirror at the bottom of the screen. If I use a 106" screen, I will cover almost the entire closet, but the picture wont fill the screen.
If I leave the mirror exposed, I am worried that the room will have too much ambient light. Maybe I could use a 120" screen and paint a black border on it itself? Will that work?
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I should proceed?
