Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has accessed the service menu? I have done searches and found one thread that had a couple ways but none worked for me. If someone has or knows could you post how?

Thank you

Just wanted to share a cool thing that happened -

After many years of great service, my 705HD died about a month ago. As soon as I start it, it shuts down after 2-3 seconds, displaying two blinking red lights (temperature error).
I cannot get it repaired because model is not officially supported by Epson where I am currently living.

Knowing that there is nothing more to loose, I opened it up though I don't have any knowledge of electronics repair. I cleaned everything up, tried several combination (lamp in, lamp out), nothing worked. Same shutdown with two blinking lights after 2-3 seconds of start.

I decided to open it up more and discovered that there is a blower fan under circuit board which is supposed to blow air to lamp. I discovered that this fan is not running but rather just shifting about a bit. I took the fan out and opened it up trying to fix it. I tried oiling it etc but fan remained unresponsive when run. Finally I gave up.

I noticed the fan number in sticker and googled it up. I found out that a Chinese website, specializing in laptop spare parts, sells it online. Costs $28. I decided to take a chance and ordered it, not really knowing whether it could really get delivered in my place of residence. A month passed, nothing happened. Then out of the blue, postman delivered the package.

So yesterday I opened up my projector once more and replaced the fan, though I was not sure whether this was the root of problem. I closed it up and fired up my projector and what do you know - Projector came back to life! No problems at all. Saw a movie last night on it. No shutdowns, just clean and beautiful projected picture!

Feeling so high right now!
