I just got a replacement lamp for my Sony Hs 20 projector. Put it in and it looks like crap.
The light is uneven and color balance is all off.
Plus there is a stinky smell coming from the lamp.
Is this normal ?
I got it from Pureland supply.
I asked them If it was am original replacement made by sony and they said that Sony does not make the lamps them selves.
So they told me that this lamp was a good as the original.
I dont think so !
So where do I go to get a good original Sony replacement lamp ?
FedEx just dropped off my bulb from Mack Warranty via Pureland supply for my Sony VPL-VW40.
It is a generic. Product code: PL9784 (alternative to LMP-H200). There is even a Pureland sticker on the housing.
I can't say whether Sony is still making bulbs for mine, but they are listed on the Sony site for purchase.
Pureland has a HORRIBLE rep as far as can be found on the forums. PM mackcamera and find out why Mack is dealing with a scam company like them. If this is the path Mack has decided to take, it's time to stop recommending a Mack warranty and tell everyone to steer clear of them.
