Hello all, I have a weird issue with my Panasonic PT-L711E projector that has only just started and I can't figure out how to fix it.

I have it setup using a Component -> XGA connection, and it's been working great with output from my Sony DVP CX850D for years in this configuration. A couple of weeks ago, I found that this was no longer working, and when a signal was detected on this input it would show a "green screen" instead.

I thought it might have been the (old) DVD player, and Santa was bringing me the new Sony BDP-CX960 Bluray jukebox so I thought I'd wait and try that out.

NOW this is where it gets odd - using exactly the same cables, the Bluray player works great but *ONLY* in 720p. If it tries to show a 480i image (which, unfortunately, it insists on doing for "Copy Protected DVD content" (original DVDs)) then I see the same green screen...

So the cables are good, connection is good, but somehow the Projector has lost the ability to render 480i?

Any clues? I can't find a manual/trouble-shooting guide for the projector online and thought I'd throw it out to the Forum? The Blu-rays look great but I can't access our big library of DVDs and it is causing much frustration for the whole family!

Many thanks!

Unless you try another cable you cannot say whether it is good or not, regardless of results. Swap it out and see what happens.

Yep, I've tried swapping out the cables completely - and the same problem exists; I think this must be a Projector setting; or maybe it's finally giving up The Bluray's are great, but I'd like to be able to watch DVDs too!

Any ideas? Any Panasonic Projector tech's out there?
