My dad's Sanyo Z2000 popped a bulb about 6 months ago. He replaced the bulb then, but didn't realize he needed to also reset the lamp counter. The Z2000 doesn't "light up" at all now, and the power light blinks red and the bulb light blinks yellow. The bulb looks new (unlike the one that popped 6 months ago). Looking at the manual, it seems that you can't reset the timer without actually seeing the menu. Does he just need a new bulb, or is something more sinister going on here? Could the PJ be refusing to power up the bulb due to the accumulated hours on the counter? How can the counter be reset when you can't see the menu?

Thanks!

Make sure the lamp cover is fitted back correctly. Otherwise why not call Sanyo service department for advice re reset of counter?

Reviving an old topic here.
I have the same issue on my z2000. It boots up but no light from bulb and the red power led blinking and the yellow 'lamp' led blinking.
The pj is 4y old and the lamp had just below 2k h burning.

Normally I thought lamp strength would gradually wear off. Here it worked one day, and the next it wouldn't light.
Order a new lamp?
Any thoughts are welcome.

Yeah, I hate it when people solve their own problems and never come back to tell the rest of the world how it went. :/

He bought another bulb and it turned on just fine. Pretty frustrating and it's turned him off from using his PJ as much...

Got my new bulb yesterday and it installed it. Solved the problem.
I struggled to find an OEM lamp so I got a Codalux bought from amazon. So far so good.
Thanks for your help!
