Hi,
I ordered a HD20 and expecting it to be at my home pretty soon. This is my first home theater setup and first home improvement project I am taking up. So please help me out.

I have vaulted ceilings in my game room and here are the dimensions:

wall height (this is lowest height of the ceiling and the location for my screen) = ~9 ft

ceiling height at its peak = 11 ft

Width of the room = ~18 ft

I am planning to have the projector located at around 14 ft. So from the optoma website (I tried to put in a URL here but got rejected) I got these numbers for 14ft :
Projection Distance: 14 ft (4.27 m)
Screen Diagonal: 107. - 129. in (272. - 326.4 cm)
Screen Width: 93.3 - 112 in (237. - 284.5 cm)
Screen Height: 52.5 - 63 in (133. - 160.0 cm)
Vertical Offset: 8.4 - 10.1 in (21.3 - 25.6 cm)

So given these values what is the best location for my screen? Screen height is given between 5 ft -to- 6 ft and my wall height being 9 ft, can I leave 1.5 ft at both ends and have the screen in the middle of the wall?

If I do that, then to maintain the 10in vertical offset, I need to have my projector mounted at least ~3ft down from the ceiling. Which projector mounts are good to achieve this? Currently I am looking at:
Chief Manufacturing KITPF018024 Projector Mount Kit

but this does not provide the 36" drop down I am looking for. Are there any other projectors that I can look for and is the 3ft drop actually required? I have read some posts regarding wall mounts but that would make my projector to be at 18ft from the screen and I am worried how the screen is gonna look like..

Any suggestions are appreciated

TIA

MountDirect.com has a drop extension that will add up to 29" to your ceiling mount. Maybe you can adjust your screen to work with that.

Give them a call, they also have an extension kit that can drop as much as 83".
