No problem CC. Not a big deal.

Regardless, the w1000+ upgrade seems lackluster to me. Very little has changed. The main factor will be the color wheel speed. It needs to upgraded to 3x, or 4x even.

the 3x color wheel in my vivitek is the reason i chose it over the benq, considering they are almost the same projector.

I agree.... I guess we'll have to see... I mentioned on another thread that I actually called them, asking about the color wheel if it has been improved but they said they didn't have the info. Either that is true because I called the U.S. office and not their HQ or they aren't ready to release the info. OR the person I was talking to was just confused and wasn't sure lol

EDIT:
You can always try calling them for yourself and let us know if they have updates. Or anyone else can. Keep this thread alive and see if they have updates on the hardware for the W1000+

I Love Apple, BenQ, Samsung, and Acer Products = )

Although the Vivitek looks good, I can't deal with the rear exhaust (who makes that anymore???). I don't have the 19" clearance needed behind it. Right now I'm looking at the W1000(+) or the Mitsu HC3800. If I can't make those work, I'll have to (gasp) go LCD...

DLP's have far better contrast ratio, by far. Stay with the DLP's

Was just on the Vivitek site, what exactly is the diff between the 1080 and the 1082. I know that the 1082 is a "Best Buy" only PJ, but PC's distance calculator gives me different throw distances for both of these. Do they have different lenses?

From what I can tell there's two differences:

1. It's black.
2. It's lens is slightly different.

That's it as far as I can tell. Doesn't seem worth the $3-400 difference in price.

The shorter throw distance is worth the extra $$$ (at least in my situation)

Hmm... Alright thanks for the responses. I guess the only true way to resolve this will be to try one from Amazon or see if the local Best Buy can get one. At the very least, it'll be an upgrade from my ep739

I was really leaning twards the Benq w1000 (as I now have a W500) ......

BUT The local Computer building shop near me (micro center) now has the vivitek H1080FD on the shelf. I can get it for 899 with zero interest for 6 months..

Based on the info I have read, the Benq is probably the best bet, but has the SLOWEST color wheel. (but I might be biased due to owning a Benq and loving it)

anyone have any updated experiences?
