I asked this question in the HC3800 thread and did not get a response. I'm actually more interested in the 4000 than the 3800, so if anyone here has information, I'd appreciate it. I'm looking for a good aspect ratio for displaying 2.35:1 movies on a 16:9 screen. Zoom1 & Zoom2 look like what I favor and use on my old Sim2, which has has programmable aspect ratios. On the Sim2, I choose a slight vertical stretch + slight zoom such that most of the widescreen extra horizontal is visible, and there are only slight black bars on top/bottom (just enough to view all of the closed captions and/or subtitles if I make the black bar all bottom). However, the Mitsubishi manuals say the available aspects vary by input source and don't make it clear whether these aspects can be used with 2:35:1 HDMI.
Does anyone know what aspect modes can be used with a HDMI/blu-ray input? For example, can you use Zoom1/Zoom2, or does the system automatically skip over them?
