Is pannasonic going to release a new pj to replace the ae-4000? I've been looking forward to the news but I haven't caught wind of it yet. Anyone know any better?

I haven't heard anything but I'm also waiting on some kind of announcement. It seems like they are losing sales by not saying something. Many want a new projector now and are jumping on the new epsons. Im deciding between an 8350 and 8700ub, but also would like to consider a panny. Bad marketing move IMO if they are keeping a tight lip.....of course they did the the same thing last year I believe.

Yep, major bad move by Panasonic. So many lower priced choices after cedia that I think alot of people are getting off the fence and buying. I too was waiting for the successor to the 4000 but without any news to hold off, I want to enjoy now and not "later".

i love panasonic products... but i must admit that their tardiness to the 2010 projector party has me considering other options (epson or jvc).

which sucks because i would probably buy the new panasonic sight unseen if they offered it for pre-sale somewhere...

There is no new projector this year to replace the PT-AE4000 from panasonic, the new model from them will be the end of 2011.

the same thing happened last year before the 4000 came out. people were saying panasonic was dropping their projector line (home use) all together. that turned out to be untrue, a few weeks later the 4000 was announced.

unless you are a panasonic rep, your claim doesn't hold water for me. rumors imo.

I too am slightly dissapointed. My AE900 is out of date, on its second bulb, battling dust blobs, and making louder noises as if its saying its last goodbyes. I absolutely love my 900 but I'm ready to update my ht setup and was planning on doing so via a Panasonic product. JVC might have my business if Panasonic doesn't make a move soon.

If you loved your ae900 then you will go nuts over any of the new fp's.I had a ae900 as my first fp 4 years ago and being my first fp I really like it.But Compared to the newer 1080p it sucked

I just checked out Rapalloav's web site. If he says his panasonic rep says no new pj untill the end of 2011 i would believe what he says. I was also hoping for the ae5000 to upgrade my ae3000. Unfortunately wishfull thinking wont make a panny ae5000 appear at your door.

The PT-AE4000 is still a better deal at <2K than anything announced at CEDIA, IMO. The Epsons can't touch the feature set, and the Panasonic performance is on a par with anything at or near the price. Why mess with success?

I agree i love my 3000. I usually upgrade every year but it did not seem from reviews that the 4000 was a big improvement over the 3000. I must admit i was anxious to see the 5000 introduced so i could finally upgrade. Almost 2 years with the same pj is against the law i think.
