I need to troubleshoot my IN72 for bad caps or ballast, but I'm stuck (insert sheepish grin here) on how to remove the silver plastic side covers without breaking them. They seem to rotate out almost 90 degrees but will not come out. Any help is appreciated. A service manual would be great too. Thanks in advance

After reading some more info and looking at the service manual of the X1, and following the troubleshooting flowcharts, looks like I need to purchase a new ballast/power supply ECA. Infocus part #510-2111-00. Any idea where from?

The part # for the IN72 PS/Ballast is 510-2111-02 and it lists at about $120 plus shipping. Understand that doing it yourself means no warranty on the part and the part is not returnable.

Warranty is not an issue, since my projector is about 3-4 yrs old. I know buying electronic parts can be risky since there is no returns, tho I assume that the part is new and not a pull. As for part #, here's some pix attached to confirm we're talking the same thing. It is labeled with 510-2111-00 on board and 510-2111-01 on metal housing. Unless I'm looking at the wrong part (I used the X1 service manual for reference)

Can you supply a link to a vendor or are you selling this part yourself?

The warranty I was referring to was any on the part. The old part# for the assembly was -01 and has been replaced with -02.

The parts I sell (I'm an independent servicer) are new, OEM. And I don't keep parts on hand, I order them as necessary. My supplier currently has 1 in stock, so it would take about a week for me to get it in.

If you're interested in proceeding, we need to take this offline.

My IN72 powers on, spins the fans powers off. After taking it apart I looked at 510-2111-01 and there are burns/scarring on the PCB under where the white and pink cables go into the board. As far as I can tell the rest of the unit along with the mainboard are intact. I'm more of a computer guy myself, but a multi-meter and some hardcore research makes me believe I can fix this.

Can you check and see if you can aquire this part for me? Thanks a ton

Hey are you still around?

Do you have access to or know where I can get a new Power board for an Infocus IN76 Part Number:  510-2111-00.  Note that this also have a barcode and number on the heatsync housing of 510-2111-01.

Any assistance is appreciated.

Cheers:

Selling my old IN72 for parts. Spare bulb ($280 new) was installed for testing, but only has a few minutes on it. I also bought a power supply board, but the problem lay elsewhere. Had a local guy at Spectronix look at it, he found a bad controller board, but could not find replacement parts and gave up. Unit in good condition, with original box, remote, manual, and new bulb, and power board. Make an offer, it's been sitting in my garage sucking up space.

Sounds interesting. I actually have found a parts supplier (from Infocus) and have ordered the part, which should arrive today. If I have no luck here then I may look at taking your parts.

If you needs parts you could try:

So Infocus Dex got back to me. The board is EOL and therefore they cannot obtain one.

Xshoei where are you located? Need to consider if it is worth getting your parts one. Also can you confirm the board part number?

Thanks

Cleaning out the garage, I still have this, plus the spare bulb and power board. If no takes soon, it's gonna meet the recycle pile...
