I'm considering getting one of these projectors in the near future, but here is my question... I'm building a PC, and I need to buy a video card really soon. My budget is supposed to be $135 to $140 for a video card. The thinking is that once B3 and Skyrim are out, then I will sell this temporary video card, hopefully get about $85 for it, and then invest in a more powerful card that seems to work well with B3 and Skyrim.
I'm very tempted to buy this Sapphire HD 5850 at Amazon.com for $150 shipped. It's over my budget, but the 5850 is a strong card for $150 shipped. I was originally looking for a GTX 460 1 gig, but couldn't seem to find one for the price I was looking for. Will the 5850 work good on this Acer using the iZ3D or DDD drivers?
Should I avoid AMD and get an Nvidia card if I'm ever going to buy this projector? (not a sure thing that I'll be buying it, kinda rather have a true 1080p 2D projector, it's just the original Acer is so cheap.)
On a side note, I have a Samsung PN50C680 1080p 3D plasma that I'm also going to be using with this video card. I originally was thinking Nvidia, so I could use 3DTV play, but I'm hoping that AMD has some kind of comparable solution for their cards?
