That's a good price if you don't have to pay sales tax. Otherwise there is one internet merchant who has it for $999 without shipping charge and tax.

If anyone buys directly from Benq, insist on having the latest firmware.

Just as an FYI, guy's don't forget we're not supposed to mention prices.

I know it's VERY VERY hard not to sometimes, and I guess it's ok if you are careful in an only owner's thread, but just don't overdo it. Simply stating this is a good way to get a good deal might be better. Sorry, didn't mean to intrude, just that I've been flagged once for mentioning prices myself, and all I was doing was stating the general price of a projector screen.

I've done it myself before, sometimes I still do it by accident and have to edit my posts later.

Has there been found a fix for this issue, or is it likely to remain something that won't be solved in a firmware update or similar?

I really don't know because I haven't contacted Benq about this.

Can someone try to contact Benq and get a statement about the fan issue? It would be great to know if they intend to do something about it.

So my unit arrived at yesterday.I hadn't enough time for try it right then, but today at last, turn on this beautyful baby.And....its so frustrating !!!!! it freezes 3 times in 5 minutes, the remote controller isn't working, the projector not responding anything.I had to turn it off with my fingers keeping on the power button for five seconds. Is this normal with a brand new unit ???? I am absolutely disappointed right now, and considering returning the whole thing. Anybody some solutions for this problem ???? HELP!!!

Hi all. I bought my projector(W1100) 1 week ago trying to upgrade from infocus X9. I was shocked when i put it in action. Very dissapointed. Out of the box picture was unwatchable. This is my 5th projector and believe me i couldn't understand how i company so famous about projectors could ship products like this. After a week playing with the settings i managed to adjust it to a good point but still cannot get blacks and shadows to a satisfactory point. From the specs the benq should be way better than the infocus but this is not happening at all. The X9 had minimum adjustment but they were not needed at all. The other problem i found is that there is a lot of light leakage at the right side of the screen and at the same area there is a 2f stain, like rainbow colors arrow. The firmware is 1.0 that is the first one. I called the benq service and they told me to take it for checking. I will give an update when i get it back from the benq service but for those who are thinking of buying it i would recoment to buy it from someplace that they can easy return it back.
