The 3-arm mounts from Monoprice certainly look like they will fit, but unfortunately I need an extension tube. MP doesn't sell any 3-arm mounts with an extension tube. So, I bought a 4-arm one and will probably make a mounting plate out of steel/aluminum, bolt that plate to the HC4000, bolt the plate onto the 4-arm mount and be good.
At least that's what I was thinking of doing. Until i got home and measured the huge freaking ceiling fan in our LR. I swear I've never seen a light kit this big. It hangs down 20" from the ceiling, smack dab in the middle of the room.
Mounting the PJ behind it with 20" of drop from the ceiling would put the bottom of my 90" diagonal 16x9 screen exactly 14" from the floor.
x 2 It's a small room with only 6 feet from in front of the fan to the screen....which would give me an incredibly underwhelming 50" diagonal picture.
So it looks like the PJ will have to sit on a table which is the perfect height to put the bottom of the screen at exactly 36" off the floor. Let's just hope the HC4000 doesn't throw a lot of light backwards thru the vents. Please comment if you can verify/refute this.
This is going OT but if anyone understands, it's you guys.
I COULD convert the guest room; it has no ceiling fan. But, it's full of furniture and the room gets sun all day long and gets hot as blazes in the summer. The house has central AC but that room is a furnace, especially during the day. It's above the un-insulated garage, which doesn't help.
Anyway, I bought mount 5466 from MP today...I'm sure I'll use it one way or another.
