VGA is an analog signal, in my expeirence you always want to go DVI or HDMI (digital signals) for a cleaner image.
HDMI has the added benefit of carrying sound. You'd have only one cable from your PC to projector, but I wouldn't necesssarliy use the projector's internal speakers as your audio...but to each their own.
HDMI is HDCP compliant, 1.3a and 1.4 HDMI cables are sufficient for carrying 720P 120Hz frame sequential signals for 2D/3D. 1080P 120Hz as of this time is not possible due to the limits of the current HDMI hardware chips. With HDMI you can easily use a capable AV receiver or HDMI switcher that supports 3D, to quickly swap sources. Just note that for long cable runs you may need a signal booster.
Another thing since HDMI is less than ideal in the way of securing itself to hardware and the input ports are succeptable to being damaged fairly easily, you may want to invest in some cable ties or a HDMI port saver http://www.monoprice.com/products/su...&cs_id=1041913
I noticed in projectorreviews.com review of this he says
"The HD33 uses RF glasses and it comes with an emitter. It can also output DLP-link, for glasses compatible with that system. You'll see a lot more red in the image when set to DLP-link and those glasses, to compensate for the tint of those glasses."
Does this mean more red with the glasses on or if your looking at the image without glasses you may see more red?

I am curious about this but only marginally because I think I know the answer. I use 3d Heaven DLP link glasses with my Sammy RP TV and while with the glasses off the screen looks red as all getout, glasses on all is good. I hear the HD33/3300 uses the same red flash that is clearyly visible while in 3d without the glasses on.
I just bought a Sony-DH520 and expected to be able to hook my Xbox and PS3 up to it and drive my Optoma GT750 with it. The reciver recognizes the Xbox and PS3 no probem (Dolby lock on the audio), but it refuses to send a signal to the Optoma to project the video. The cables in question all work to hook the Optoma up directly to the Xbox and PS3.
I am assuming the culprit is HDCP, but I am not sure how to verify that.
Another poster in this thread suggested some device that could sit between the receiver and projector to potentially allow the receiver to drive the projector. Anyone have a suggestion here?
Anyone have a receiver from Sony that they are successfully using to drive the Optoma?

Yeah, I guess so. I got that receiver for the same reason you did - crazy good price on Amazon.
I am actually not too worried about multiple sources at the moment because another Xbox and PS3 are hooked up to my Bravia LCD, and I only have my second 360 hooked up to the Sony/Optoma. I will use the receiver to drive the sound, but yeah, I will need a splitter at some point whenever I decide I want to get a Blue-ray 3D player (or just use the PS3) to watch 3D content on it.
Anyone know of a splitter that works with GT750? Like another poster said, all the ones I have been able to find so far are only HDMI 1.3 compliant.
well thats the problem, I want to put my cable box and computer through to the projector so was going to buy a new receiver, but thats a waste if it won't work, I think any splitter would do it though.

The only problem I see with the splitter is that it says it "The unit supports HDMI 1.3, plus the 3D support specified in the HDMI specification. It also conforms to the HDCP 1.2 standard, ensuring that all of your equipment and media will play properly."

if it says it passes 3d, it should be fine, look at the cables, there are no 1.4 cables, there are highspeed cables that are 3d compliant.
the problem with that is, even if it autoswitches like it says, like other people say, cable boxes are always on, i want my receiver to do the switching, this seems like a problem that optoma needs to get off their Ass and fix.
Major Updates to Trademark and Logo Guidelines—September 2010
Changes for Cables Effective Immediately
Adopters may no longer use HDMI version numbers in the labeling, packaging, or promotion of any cable product. This is effective immediately for any references to the HDMI Specification Version 1.4, and Adopters have a one-year grace period for removing references to earlier versions of the HDMI specification when describing their cables.
Update! My other receiver -- a Sony STR-DN1000 -- works with the Optoma's HDMI! The only problem is that the STR-DN1000 is not a 3D receiver, so I would imagine that if I attempt to hook my PS3 up to it and watch a 3D movie, it won't work. Any thoughts on that?
At any rate, I guess it is another data point as far as receivers go. I am trying to look up the HDMI and HDCP protocols for the receiver and am coming up empty. Perhaps that would give more of an insight as to why this receiver can output an HDMI signal that the projector can process but the STR-DH520 cannot.

No, I meant it that way (but "nobody" should have been "does anyone here"). I'm interested in the projector also, but for a few hundred more you get a 1080p PJ with a lot of lumens as well. So sell me on this one. It has to be the extra lumens?
My sister's AX200 at 720p on a large screen has a noticeable resolution difference at a big size.
Quite honestly, my Epson HC 8100 (rated at 1800 lumens) is far brighter than my old GT720 (rated at 2500 lumens).
However, regarding your comment about 720p on a 150" screen... bro, when you watch a 3D movie on this PJ (the GT), you'll be amazed at how good it looks on a 150" screen, trust me. Too bad my GT720 bit the dust (refurbed unit from Ebay - ended up having several stuck pixels all over the place), so I'm looking for a replacement. The GT750E seems like a very good choice and I'll still have my HC 8100 to fall back on.

Everyone asking about rainbows - do you guys see rainbows on DLPs, in general. I'd guess, if you do, chances are you will see rainbows on 750 (or 33) as well - both 3D & 2D.
I never see rainbows (unless I specifically look for them) in any DLP projecor (this includes SVGA projectors made 10 years back).
I know. I don't know why I am reading so many questions regarding freakin' rainbows, especially if they never experienced it. It's nothing to worry about and you most likely won't even see them if you're watching a better than good quality video. It was my experience that lesser quality videos produced this effect more, but only when I darted my eyes back and forth. At first, I didn't even know what it was when I seen them. I thought it had do with me being tired or something else as it mainly happened late at night. It sort of reminded me of a kaleidoscope and I thought I was "trippin". I couldn't reproduce the effect at that time, but I later found out it was only visible (as other's have also said) during scenes with a darker background and lighter foreground, like credits and only when I darted my eyes back and forth really fast. The faster I moved my eyes, the more the rainbow effect. I compare the effect to one of those LED clocks that move so fast that you can see the time or date:
So basically, when the lighter colored object on a darker background moves rapidly across the screen, it'll leave somewhat of a "streak of colors", hence the rainbow effect. Or, if the lighter colored object is stationary and you move your eyes, then the same effect happens. But please note, I did not notice any RBE when watching 3D, only in 2D.
What I was really concerned about was the "screen door effect" I noticed on the older GT720. I had read that this was common on LCD PJ's as RBE was common on DLP, but the GT720 had very noticeable SDE. Sure, the further I sat back, the less noticeable, but I like to sit pretty close to the screen to get the full effect of a giant screen, but even at 11 feet back, I noticed those little squares, not so much during movies, but during light background scenes and when I had the computer desktop on screen.
You got a link for this? I don't feel like asking or searching. I pretty much read that whole thread (over time) and did not come away with that impression as a whole or even as a problem. Maybe I missed it.
Don't be a smart ass. I found that Wiki photo earlier when I made the post and it was extremely large, so I Googled and found that simulated pic. What's the difference? Point was made whether it's simulated or "real".
Now that I'm at home and on my home PC, the pic is now formatted smaller for whatever reason.
Yeah I saw it with my GT720 that I returned because I never got 3d working. At a distance it was not noticeable but the 720P was as I made the picture bigger. That is why the GT750 is probably out for me now since reasonably priced 1080 units have arrived. Not 100% on that but 1080 units definitely look better on the big screen.
Well a picture someone took out a window using the bug screen to simulate the effect is not really representative and is somewhat misleading. The "screen door effect" is inherent to the DLP technology due to the necessary space between each mirror. For those unfamiliar with DLP technology watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eD_xZcYQE50
Which glasses are reccomended for 3d on this projector? All i know from reading is it flashes white?
