One person generates 100W in heat, i wonder what will happen in your flat during a party :P

Actually the heating energy (at -15°C outside) is calculated with 10 watts/m² (a so called Passive House), so a party during summer would make some problems indeed (especially when using a projector with to much heat dissipation). During winter, you could open the windows a little to get rid of the heat.

BTW, I am also considering buying one of these two. However Optoma lacking the audio output is really annoying. Since all these 500 Lumen projectors are so similar, I tend to think they also have similar hardware inside. Optoma might already have audio-out pins on its PCB but simply not used.

Hi guys, I bought the Acer K330.

In general I am very pleased with it but I can't found a way to use the 3D Ready.

I tried to talk to "Nvidia support" and "Acer support" , they are just pointless telemarketing guys who didn't know what they are talking about, and nobody cares to help me.

Nvidia told me is not compatible with their Nvidia vision glasses. But in Acer manual it tells me to buy a Nvidia glasses I call this Scam. I have been 3 weeks messing around and no clue what I am doing wrong, too many 3d formats and ********.

Does anyone tried to use 3D with his projector?

I have an Nvidia 580 gtx, 8gb ram, sandbridge 4cpu, and I connect the projector with a dvi cable to vga input on the projector. I have the second monitor as 1024x768 120 hz and use as a primary monitor.

I have a Nvidia Vision glasses,
I have installed latest drivers 285.62-desktop-win7-winvista-64bit-international-whql
But didn't reconice the projector in 3D wizard.
Also Nvidia told me to install 3dTV and same luck ;(

Anyone has a clue? anyone tried 3D with this projector?

Please help, I am getting crazy

Thanks in advance,
David

try the dvi to vga adapter hack(you cut 2 pins off of adapter, how to in the qumi thread i think)I wont send edid data then you pick generic crt 1024x768@120hz in your nividia menu.

It's a shame that it just doesn't outright work with Nvidia, but there is also TriDef and iZ3D that you can use, both have free trials. But you may need DLP link glasses for them, TriDef may still work with Nvidia glasses by choosing one of the Display types as, if I remember right, Stereo3D.

Meat is right, if you remove the display ID pins, it will be seen as a generic CRT monitor. Here's an article on it http://3dvision-blog.com/how-to-use-...ith-3d-vision/

You can also do an EDID override using the .inf file from an Acer 5360.

If you felt you were misled, there are laws against deceptive business practices. IMHO these projector companies as well as Nvidia are certainly in the grey area. Their out, I'm sure is that you could always use anaglyph. But there is an argument for customer assumptiom/expectations.

Which page would that be? I certainly can't find it. I can't find anywhere where they claim 3D Vision support or recommend it.

Hi

I want to buy a video-projector for occasional movie watching and playing games.
I have to choose between Optoma ML500 and Acer K330.

They have the same price, same spec (don't really need the audio out from acer).

Can anyone point out a plus from either projector? confused.gif

Thanks in advance for the replays.

They're roughly the same since they basically have the same guts. I'd say the ML500 has a more attractive case if that helps. smile.gif
