Awesome looking room! You have a great set up . . . nice too see you are a Yamaha man too. I've always found they give a great bang for the buck. Don't let too many friends and neighbors know about your home theater . . . otherwise you'll have a line up 'round the block and demands for "private screenings".
What screen size and make do you have? I'm looking to get a screen within the next few weeks. When I'm in NYC in a couple of weeks, I might see what B&H offers. I was planning on a white 135" screen with a gain of 1:1. I've read that (especially for 3D) that 135" might be a bit big for acceptable brightness. I think 120" should do me fine.
I wonder how many folks spend a ton on, let's say, 55" flat panels that take up a pretty big foot print in a room. If a lot of folks could see what entry level projection can do these days in terms of a great HUGE image with little footprint taken up, I bet a lot more projectors like the 3010 would be in a lot more homes than are now.
Thanks for posting the pics!
Just let the folks here at the forum know when we should drop by to watch the game!
Thanks man, I'm really proud of my setup and have put countless hours/weeks/months perfecting it! I LOVE my Yamaha gear and wouldn't consider any other brand unless this stuff dies and I get a sweetheart of a deal on some Ultra high end gear. The only part of my audio system thats Not Yamaha is my primary sub and my surround backs, those three speakers are klipsch. My secondary sub. fronts, center and surrounds are all Yahama NS Series with the Yamaha Piano finish.
My screen is a Vapex tab tension electric 120 inch. http://www.visualapex.com/Projector-...er=VAPEX9120TN
. Honestly, this screen is Absolutely BEAUTIFUL! The Gain is 1.1 and the surface is Cinema White. There are a couple High End electronics boutiques here in the metro Detroit area, I went there and did a lot of research on projectors and screens. Looked at Drapers, Carada, Da Lite and Elite screens in action. None of them carried the Vapex screen but they all basically said the same thing about it... That it was Awesome. After owning it for about 3 months now, Its Outstanding! I highly recommend it like they recommended it to me.
I have a 50 inch 3D plasma hanging behind my screen (reason I bought an electric screen) the bugger was about a grand WITHOUT the glasses! I'll put it this way... My screen hasn't been raised in about 3 months now lol. No one wants to watch the plasma, for the same reason they don't wanna watch our 65 inch RPTV either... It looks too small now that they watched the Projector Haha.
As far as watching the Game here... Unfortunately My Detroit Red Wings were Eliminated from the playoffs pretty quick this year
Again, Thanks for the complements! I encourage the rest of you to post some pictures of your Awesome Rooms!
