I have an Acer Ph530 going on four years now always worked great, always amazed at pic quality. Now lamp life is at 1962 hours and tonight while son was playing Xbox the projected image turned green, I switched to Blu-Ray movie to test and green still there. Anyone heard of this, could this be a symptom of the bulb nearing end of life or maybe circuts, chips or color wheel? I was planing on replacing the bulb soon anyway but now hate to spend money on bulb if other problems cost more than the projector to fix. I went into settings and moved colors up and down to see if that would help, while adjusting Red color the image popped back to normal for about 20 seconds then popped back to everything being green again.

Thank you for Any help and your time.

A bad lamp wouldn't have those symptoms. Try plugging your Blu-ray player directly into your pj's HDMI input. Set your Blu-ray player to output YCbCr. Go into the projector's Image menu and set the Signal Type to YCbCr. If the source and pj are set to different signal types that could cause a green screen. Not sure why it would have changed on it's own but it's something to check. You can also try pulling the power plug from the pj for a bit. A hard reset sometimes helps. There's a Reset option in the pj's Management menu you could try as well.

If the image is still green it may be time to start looking for a replacement projector. Acer's X1261P sells for about $350 and has specs that are very close to the PH530. (A little better actually.) If your budget is higher there are plenty of options that can provide a bump-up in the picture quality department. Good luck!
