I just saw this projector was available over at Newegg and I haven't heard of this before.

The specs there show it as a 4000 Lumen darkchip 3 projector. I downloaded the manual from the Acer website and it indicates that this has horizontal and vertical lens shift as well.

I've been waiting here to hear news on the Acer H9500BD 3d projector (which is now on sale in Europe) but this one might prove to be a nice alternative for those who do not want the 3d capabilities of that projector when and if it becomes available in the US.

Wow that sucker is bright if the specs are close to being accurate.

I saw this as well. I can't believe that this PJ isn't getting more interest considering the lumens and the lens shift capability.

Mike

It's toe-tappingly tragic!

^ Deal breaker for many. I'm not sensitive to rbe, but...

Man, those lumens! If you're in a light controlled room it will burn your retinas, but it could work great in a bright-ish games room. Lens shift is win.

Where this would be killer would be outdoor summer movie nights.

Wonder if the 1999.00 price would drop to 1199.00 I would be all in!
Been happy with the 7531. Would like darkchip3 and more lumens.

Yea I saw that. I'm not sure. In all of the the european stores where this model has been sold it lists this as a 6x wheel...http://www.projectorshop24.co.uk/ace...00-colorboost/

I downloaded the manual from the acer site, but it didn't have that info listed anywhere.

I just saw the Acer H9500BD is now available at newegg toohttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824009335.

I ordered it and should get it by the end of the week. I'll report back with my findings. Looks like a dark chip 2 with lens shift, newegg says 3x color wheel, but Acer specs say 6x.

Tim awesome. I just ordered one as well. Be interesting to compare to the
H7531 230 watt lamp vs 9500bd 280 watt.

The specs and features of this projector for the price are amazing. I am interested in:
- Cross-talk/ghosting with 3D
- Brightness (some of these manufacturers like Optoma really fudge their max lumen numbers)
- Contrast/black level
- Lens shift

Please let us know your thoughts. Seems like a solid price and offers a lot more contrast and lumens than the Optoma 33 for slightly more money.

Seems there is NO dedicated thread yet for this model. It would be great if you open one with your first impressions.

So many ideas, so little money!

Acer has no specs on the color wheel but this website says 6 as well.

Fan noise is a bit loud.

Normal: Fan Noise 33 dB
Eco: Fan Noise 29 dB

Looks like this projector has been out for over a year.
