Howdy folks. Ive been lurking here awhile, but now Im hoping to get some help with a problem.

I got an Epson 8350 about a week ago, and it worked great up until today. Now, after only 4-5 uses, the bottom 5% of the picture has a strong blue tint.

I tried using 2 different HDMI cables, both HDMI inputs, multiple sources (BRD player, cable box), and that blue line is always there.

Has anyone had this problem before? Can it be fixed, or should I exchange the projector while I still can?

Thanks

Got it from amazon.com

After another restart, I now get a message saying 'auto-iris failure, contact Epson'

So I guess its going back to amazon. Now my dilemma is whether to get another 8350 or something thats hopefully more reliable...

I had a similar problem. At the end of the SAT, contact Epson and I changed it to a new (I was under the warranty).

Why don't you contact Epson? They will overnight you another one AND they pay return shipping on the broken one.

This really bugs me that electronics fail and people automatically dump all over the brand and don't even try to contact customer service.

Epson has one of the best cs's out there so take advantage of it!!

I have gone through MANY Epson projectors until I finally got a working one...started with 8100 then had to go to 8350 after they ran out of new 8100 to send.

All in all im still happy because the CS has been great - I would call up with the problem, they send a new one and two days later it is at the front door.

It seems they have a little bit of a manufacturing problem but the CS makes up for it.

i would not hesitate to get another Epson.
