Here's the issue: When a new video type is synced (it happens from trailer to trailer, or from menu to movie) there's a chance that it's going to start "blinking the video". Half second of video followed by maybe a half second of black, half second of video, half second of black and so on. At first I could only get it to go away reliably by turning off both the PS3 and the 3010... but I've since figured out switching to, say, HDMI2 and then back to HDMI1 will do the trick. (I've also had the cable plugged into HDMI2 and found going to HDMI1 and back will do it too.) I took a video of it with my phone and will upload to youtube, if anyone wants to see it.

Could be. I'm relieved that almost no one else is seeing it. I saw it probably 1/3 of the time a new video started. 2D/3D didn't matter.

I have 2 that I have paired to my 3010. They synced up pretty much instantly. Some people complain they are slightly uncomfortable. They fit around my head fine, but i did see where some might find the nose piece uncomfortable after a period of time.

I am guessing for what 3D Glasses that are out there right now, these are going to be my best choice as far size and price for my kids. Thanks

I got a couple pairs of the TY-EW3D3SU glasses for my 5 and 7 year old. The fit the best but still require using a glass strap but they stay up way better than the Medium size or the Epson glasses. My wife tried on the Small as well and says they're really comfy. I anticipate the small size should fit my kids for a few years to come.

My 5 year old can't keep the Epson glasses on, though I wouldn't want to buy the small as in a year or two they'd probably be too small. My 7 year old the Epson glasses are a bit large for, but generally they work.

I saw the BLicks glasses as well and they seemed impressive, and glad to hear that they work well. Might have to order some. I found another site (not eBay) that sold them (which is how I found out about BLicks), but can't remember where it was. They had a very good price on them. If I can dig up the site again, I'll post.

Most likely will be after Christmas and New Year's before we order more glasses for the kids, unless i can get a good bargain.

Make sure they are TY-EW3D3SU and NOT EW3D2SU. Got a couple pairs of the small for my kids (5 & 7) and they work fine with a glasses strap. I suspect they'll last them a few years, they even fit my wife.

Do you have a model number for these so I can update the OP?

I tried finding a delete option but couldn't find one. Trying my best to keep the OP updated as we find glasses that work/don't work though. Will try adding sending a request to an admin for merging.

I have been in contact with a rep for www.dimensionaloptics.com in which he states they "do not advertise compatibility with Epson 3D projection products" but in his opinion there is a good chance the panasonic active glasses will work with the Epson 3010. The rep also reported that he had a customer that has already "tested" and they worked perfectly, but he cant guarantee the functionality...so..

They have a 30 day return policy (just pay shipping back) so I am going to go ahead and order these and once I get them in will post the results hopefully all positive...still havent got my RMA money back from the Sony's yet

A lot of the amazon reviews say they're too small. But then again, many people here are looking for medium or small Pannys.

Can anyone compare their size to the M or S pannys?

I was talking about the Pannies mentioned in the subject line. These have been working great so far - no set up required, no syncing required. Albeit I find these a bit darker than the Epson's original ones. (Yes, I bought these bundled with Avatar 3D from eBay - best price -$229!!)

According to the web site these will work for Panasonic®
TY-EW3D3 replacements for many of the Panasonic devices.

Mine are on the way and hopefully will be in by Friday will post the results once they are in

On my phone right now but just wanted to let you know after trying out both Samsung 2100 and 3100 glasses to no avail I wanted to try the Panasonic ones.

Conveniently CompUSA (owned by tigerdirect.com) is closing out their Avatar ultimate 3d kit (Avatar 3d + 2 pairs of glasses). They do come with the older 3d2 glasses but tried them out last night and seem to work fine (battery completely dead so had to charge them) Will do some more testing. They were clearanced at $149 which is a really good deal considering Avatar still sells for $80 on eBay.

Unfortunately they are sold out online (can't post links yet, too new) but if you look on their web page there's a link to check local stock. Not a whole lot of stores have them.

Obviously YMMV but I might try to pick up another pair this weekend.

Interesting, by all other accounts the TY-EW3D2MMK2 shouldn't work. As BigBadJon mentioned they work as well, I'll add them to the list with the caveat that there are mixed results.

UPDATED post with working/non-working - trying to get OP to post this link in his post as well: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...8#post21239888

I got a pair of the ty-ew3dmu's from best buy today. I'll post up in a bit on results.

Quick note, availability on these glasses is abysmal. If you ordered from amazon awhile back and are still waiting on the glasses, there's an old trick you can use to get near the same price.

1. Buy the glasses from best buy at retail price.
2. Keep your out of stock order with amazon
3. Return your amazon glasses to best buy when they arrive

You essentially just pay tax and gas to best buy, but you get your glasses BEFORE christmas. I only post this underhanded tactic because of the holiday season and familys showing up. I'm in that situation.

Cheers.

FYI - I too got a couple from Best Buy (their last two pairs!) - they work perfectly well with my Epson ST3010e projector! Came with USB charger ... (but I did not buy for returning later!

Right, so after viewing the cod scene in IMAX: Under the Sea 3D, I believe the original epson glasses and the ty-ew3dmu's to be of equal viewability.

I do like the 3d -> 2d option on the panny's. I feel like my father will choose this most of the time.

Yeah, I had to cancel an order I made from Panasonic because they were on back order. The website said "Ships in 1-3 business days" when I ordered as well.
