I just put a new lamp in my Epson 8350. After about 18 hours of use and watching a few blu ray movies in letterbox, now I'm noticing a burn in effect along the top and bottom of a full screen image. Could I have burn in? Can I resolve it ? Have I ruined my projector? I'm stumped. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Any idea what it is? It's a distinct bar at the top and bottom of my image not noticeable on every scene. Looks like the color is a bit darker in this bars.

Post an image. Just a guess at this point but it sounds like you may have polarizer burn.

Found this thread after having the same issue on a 2 month old Epson 8350. Distinct bars where the letterbox was on the movie I watched earlier. It is a red tint and is more visible where there is a red back ground in the full screen image.

Was there ever a resolution to this issue?

Thanks,
Michael
