Good evening,

I'm a little new to the forum, but I explained my problem
Code:
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1387471
Anyways, for the non clickers and quick viewers, I have a Panasonic PT-AX100U, been a great unit for 5000 hours (believe it or not!) I am to the point where I am getting 2 problems, Bulb flicker....and occasionally a green screen. I reviewed it with a friend and on that link, but I do believe it's time for a new bulb and a new HDMI cable (and its about 25 feet, so kind of expensive)

My dillema, is do I go the cheap route (ebay, about $100 bucks for the bulb and $20 for the cable) and get the knock off brands, and try and squeeze another year or two out of the projector, Or do I spend the big bucks on an OEM bulb (about $370) and cable, or do I just scrap the whole idea and buy this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...SIN=B003Y06L1A , an Optoma HD180 1080p DLP Home Theater Projector and for aroun $900.00

So I have a cheap repair route.....<$150
An Expensive repair route............=$450
or a new projector.....................=$900

Any ideas?

New projector. Shoot you can get a Viewsonic Pro8200 if you look around for around 650 brand new the other week. IT will blow that AX100u away.

Do yourself a favor: Never buy projectors on Ebay.

I Love Apple, BenQ, Samsung, and Acer Products = )

I agree with the new PJ advice. 1/2 the cost of new PJ to replace bulb/cable is not best bang for buck. The other option to go cheap AM bulb on flea bay, my opinion is of the last poster...just don't. You're not really saving any money due to the shorter life span and the unreliability quotient makes it too much of a risk.
