Guys:

I recently bought a JVC RS2 projector used with 90hrs on original lamp.
Really nice pic. Very impressed.
But:
The Vertical lens adjuster is broken. When you adjust lens up it is sloppy and loose feeling, then after very little movement (from bottom most lens position) it will click and drop back down.
I can "help" it up with my finger on the lens plastic surround and it will move up but will fall with very slight tap on lens surround.
The Horizontal adjuster also feels sloppy but seems to "hold" position.
My installation will be centered Horizontal but I will need some Vert adjust.

So I am bummed: pic is so nice.

How hard a repair is this? Assuming it is some type gear assembly. Maybe a broken tooth?

Or
Could I use a small piece of foam or something to support the lens?
Once I have it setup the lens will not have to be moved.

Thanks for your advise

Mark

Yep Ebay
Ad did not say anything about broken vert adjuster though. Not sure if were talking same projector here?
BTW
The seller has arranged to send it to JVC for repair, so I am thrilled with that.

It'll usually takes about 2 weeks turnaround. The seller probably did not re-pack the lens with the 2 pink foams that come w/ the projector to keep the lens in place.

It's a great projector if you prefer crt-black for serious film watching. Mine has almost perfect convergence; it's mighty sharp.
