Granted, we're talking about a $1500 projector with a new type of illumination, so I wouldn't expect it to be as sharp as say a $5K DLP. I'd be using this as a travel unit, so the size is appealing, and the ability to turn it on and off frequently or leave it running for long periods of time without worrying about aging the bulb is quite appealing to me. I wouldn't use it on larger than an 80" screen, so it has more than enough lumens for my needs.
I definitely find that strange - I'm not sure how they can sell a projector in the US and not have it listed on their website. It's one of the reasons I've held of on buying it. I am however thinking of eating the restock fee just to get my hands on it for a bit.
you can google Acer K750 reviews .. you can find out how good it is
all in all PQ is about mid range projector ( Acer K750 vs H6500 )
its not better then benq W1070 ( IMO ) which is less then $1k when it comes to sharpness and 3D
the only thing makes it better is the advantage of lamp-life worries and on and off
last year it was like $2500
and now its down to $1500 is just about right ( IMO )
can you imagine whats the real price of Acer K750 - jumping from $2.5k to $1.5k in just 8 months time
are they ripping off ( I cant call it that ) or it just happen to be the roll of marketing to x3 the real price until it just like 2 years and still making some money out of it !!
is this the tax of tech !!
Panasonic PT-RZ470 is out for about $3.5k here
( or google it )
and Optima HD91 out in Sept
if you are not in a harry wait the end of this year for a better one in the range of $1.5k
or you can go for it now - your call ....
