And I don't get what you mean by not worth it? If you don't have crazy High expectations then one can be thrilled with a HTIB at $1000

Me I have compared both. And 100's of others. I have in the past worked retail in audio for many years. I am not saying I have the highest end stuff myself, but I would always try to talk someone I know out of buying those cheap HTIB systems. And for one there is no comparison between sony and onkyo. Onkyos HTIB is hands down better in the same price points.

Most people go out and buy them for the wow factor of surround sound. And alot of these systems sound horrible.
