Hey all...
In the spirit of being relegated to the cheap seats, I have bought an unloved projector (+a friend in worse condition) for the princely sum of $150 AUD (or $75USD).

It is a 640X480 resolution projector, LCD and 14.8KG!!! (yuk) but its redeeming virtues are that it is 600 Ansi lumens, 3 panel design, motorised zoom, 500TV line resolution...

It is a Sharp XV-3410S - and its problem is that the red panel doesn't work. It's friend is missing its power supply, and its condition is otherwise unknown.

NOW - does anyone have a web address where I could download a manual for this rather unusual beast? It must be very solidly built to weigh 15Kg methinks...

If I can get it working - well... I will be happy, especially as the seller included a new, boxed spare bulb as well! :o)

I would really appreciate any more info anyone could give me on this model - seems to be a bit of an orphan...

Cheers

Look it up on projectorcentral.com and see where that takes you. You might also want to track down your local Sharp rep and see if they point you in the right direction. Good luck!

Unfortunatly projectorcentral has no information on this model - it looks like a real weird one, the only references I could find on google were overseas - and had to be translated - this is where I got the information that it had a motorised zoom, 600 ansi lumens etc.

I am always up to a challenge, and the guy contacted me yestarday to say that he found another 'carcass' of the same unit, minus more parts, so I may be able to build two of these out of the three (as long as number 2 and 3 aren't missing the same things :P)

When I get them I will take some photos for interests sake - I would love to know what makes them so heavy - must have some pretty impressive optics, and from the features, it looks like a top-of-the-line projector from years and years ago. Interesting...

Should make a joke for the cheapest home theatre system ever - :) 5.1 surround using computer speakers($100), a cheap $100 US DVD player, $2 interconnects and a $75 projector - all up a $300 home theatre... :P

Cheers
