Looking for any feedback on the lens memory featured PJ's and how they're set up for 2.35.

I'm considering an AE7000 or Sony with lens memory for 2.35 and 16:9 content. Trying to figure out where to mount the PJ.

Does the feature work well for you? How did you have to mount the PJ for it to work properly.

Thanks!

I have the Panasonic AE4000 and I have it set up to auto zoom for 2.35 CIH. It works incredibly well with perfect focus, zoom, and vertical position every time. I only had to program the lens memory once, and I have stored positions for 4:3/16:9, Todd AO 2.0, Cinemascope 2.35, Cinemascope 2.55, Technirama 2.65, and Cinerama. All projectors should have this feature. Once you experience it you forget all about anamorphic lenses!

Ceiling mount? If so, did you have to mount it even with screen top to work properly?

Rear shelf mount, lens level with top of the screen.

I am just starting to plan my HT in my basement and realize I will have to do a ceiling mount. Issue is, I only have 7 foot ceilings so I am limited by height for a screen. I have been looking at auto zoom features, but I don't think they work unless you PJ lens is lined up somewhere between the top and bottom of screen.

It will work if the PJ has motorized shift as well. Panny doesn't but from what I understand some JVC and Sony do. That would allow you to mount close to ceiling and still take advantage of auto zoom.
