i am looking for a 2d projector with a 100inches screen. right now i got a hd33( 3d bluray/movies).

i am thinking to buy a projector for 2d cause hd33 got a RBE when i watch 2d movies.

please give me some idea.

It sounds like you need to switch to LCD. What's your budget?

So the RBE doesn't come into play when you are watching a movie in 3D?


If you go LCD then the 8350 would be more than enough to handle the 100" screen at your distance. If you are exchanging the projector for another 3D LCD for the cheap than i would think the 3010 would be next option.

It's extremely rare to see enough RBE to be bothersome on a 6x color wheel, are you sure you have the Optoma hd33 in max color speed mode?

how do i know if the hd33 is in max color speed mode?

the lamp is on std mode ( 2d and 3d)?

Are you watching the image too bright?

An overly bright image will cause RBE for people even when a properly calibrated image at correct brightness levels will not.

i use cvh setting for 2d and 3d right now.

You could always try an ND2 filter to cut down on the brightness but as always look at your settings first
