I am looking to use an existing projector which does not accept HDMI only component in my game room.

I want to be able (because of location) to stream from a standard def cable box to the projector about 30-ish feet away.

What is the best way to do this?

I have see the HDMI remote streamers but the projector only accepts component.

I can NOT run any cables where I want to hang the projector.

Thanks.

They sell HDMI to Coomponent convertors.

Does it accept DVI?

I am not recommending this one... it is just the first one I found, but they are not too pricing. This with an HDMI wireless system might work... Is the Projector HDCP compliant? Not sure if that will be an issue for EDID.

No... it is a Panasonic PT-L300U. It is not HDCP compliant.

Does that mean the HDMI to component will NOT work?

If you are trying to stream SD cable TV (480i) to the PT-L300U (native resolution 960X540) just find yourself something that will stream 480i, the projector will do a slight upscaling but it will still look mediocre at best. As an aside, your projector will accept a 1080i, 720p signal but will scale it down to its native resolution so as you probably already know it's not really an HD projector.
