I've had an 8700ub for a while now, and I've always used it in THX mode, since everybody, especially Art at projectorreviews raved about it. Lately I've been reading about how Theater Black is actually better, in terms of an accurate image, along with black levels.

I have always punched in the calibration settings that Art offered on his review pages, but he didn't put in any RBG values for Theater Black 2 this time, since he judged that THX was the best mode. I know that it's best to calibrate your own machine separately, but I've found that it always looks much better when I put in his settings.

If multiple people post their RGB gain/offsets, perhaps we could see some kind of trend in certain directions, which I imagine would also be valuable.

PM me if you would like you projector calibrated correctly. I have the tools to keep mine in tune and work for a small fraction of what the pros charge to try and offset my purchase of equipment. I am located in Delaware county just outside the city limits
