I am a longtime member here, but not active since a few years ago when I bought a Panny 900 based on the info I found here. My Panny died due to a chip malfunction, so I'm looking to get a new projector. I do have a few constraints that make this a bit more tricky than when I got the Panny initially.
$2k budget, max
Rainbow senstive, so no DLP
Family room, not dedicated HT
Grey Screen .8 gain (cannot be changed)
Pre-existing shelf for mount - dead center vertically, 1 foot offset horizontally.
It looks like the 3010 meets most of my requirements, but it has no lens shift. But, can't I still get it to work using keystone correction? I am willing to give up a bit of sharpness in order to get the 3D and the brightness. But if there's another projector that I'm not aware of, I'm all ears!
Also, I will have the $$ to do this at the end of August, and I know there's a big show in September, should I wait till then to see what comes out? Or do you think the 3010 won't have much new competition in the foreseeable future?
