Sharpness is good in 80 inch, if you have a complete dark room should be fine. But I think 80 inch is too small for me that's why I choose BenQ GP10 because of the shorter throw ratio. I can have bigger screen from the same distance as others such as Acer K330 , LG PB60g, Optoma and etc..

Image looks slightly out of focus on 130-140 inch especially on the top left corner or bottom right, but it is still acceptable.Centre is in focus. You won't notice the focusing issue unless reading text or browsing webpage. Of course it is still readable. Think it is still better than Acer K330 in focusing.

Please note that the audio output from this projector is crap. Better find another brand if you are intending to use it.

ive been looking for a decent LED beamer and this one seems to be a solid option.

now that some of you guys have had these for a while, what's your judgment on this?

im mainly considering between GP10, LG PB60/PA70 and ACER K330

ill post my experience when i get my order, probably next week.

i selected GP10 because better price (400 EUR vs pa70 500EUR) and (hopefully) better focus and short throw distance.

I really looking forward on your input about this PJ , I am especially interested in focus uniformity , focus with heat stability and noise.

I am also leaning on purchasing this unit but after disappointment with acer heat up focus and lg focus uniformity problem i am a little bit paranoid :-)

Regards and tnx in advance on your input.

okay so here some thoughts :)

# box contents

PJ, carrying case, power cord, vga cable, remote, guide, wifi dongle.

# my setup

ps3 with hdmi projected to white wall, about 80" screen size.

# brightness

out of box the brightness is set to NORMAL,

seems to generate quite much noise from the fans so I set it to ECO, which was plenty of bright for me thought there was some ambient light.

# image

sharpness very easy to adjust using the focus wheel, which feels strong enough to hold the focus.

resolution and presence of diamond pixels is visible when you sit near, from like 3meters (or 9feet) away.

especially you can see it on thin fonts and shape edges.

# speakers

you can adjust volume only from remote, but you can't set it low enough,

probably due the small size and low impedance of speakers.

I guess they're nice to have unless you can't connect any externals.

# overall feeling

well I guess this is what you get at this price (400 EUR), its nothing compared to 1080p PJs,

but its not bad either. If you plan to sit near, consider something else than these diamond pixel setups, they're visible.

although some might not be bothered about it and probably when you watch movies or play they won't catch your eye.

I'm still considering to keep it, though I have a 1080p PJ. I really like the size and everything else about GP10, but I'm not

sure whether I hate diamond pixels or not :D

I'll post some images later, feel free to ask anything.

Hello Mates. Sorry for my bad english. Can you give me some information. I have distance 3.6 meters from screen(orange wall) in my room. I have calculated that I should have diagonal more or less 140 inches. Does BENQ GP10 will be satisfying choice for me in this device price range. I saw great text pictures from "Beloncfy" made on 140 inch screen and difficult to assess video made on "Street fighter". But I`m still not sure. Do you have any more pictures or videos with 140 inches screen? I`m thinking especially about movies.
