My 5 yr old Panasonic will need repairs.
It's a 720p / 1100 lumen projector.
I've seen many newer projectors with 1280x800 DLP chips that claim to run in 720p mode. Is the 720p mode on these projectors just using less pixels, or is it scaled?
The projectors on my short list are:
I've read a whole lot of reports about Optomas developing stuck pixels, so I worry about that.
The LG is interesting to me because of bulb life. I've heard some say that 700 lumens from an LED source might come close to matching the 1100 lumens in my Panasonic. Any opinions on the LED brightness? My room is pretty dark. It would be fine with me if the performance is in the ballpark of the AE900.
The GT750e would be great for its 3d. I may not have 8.3" of height above my 100" screen for mounting.
The BENQ picture looked great at Fry's, but I don't know if the throw distance will be short enough.
I only have 12' of space from the screen soo the Acer 3d projector won't work.
Lens shift would be nice in my room, but I can probably work around that by proper setup.
Any other PJs I should consider?
