I have a new Epson 710HD from best buy. I still have about 15 days left in the 30 day return period. I do not mind the 720p, it looks crisp to me. I am not a fan of the black levels however. Should I just stick with my 710, or should I pull the trigger and return this model and get the 8100 refurb from Visual Apex for $749?
I've also read that the 8100's have some bulb problems. Thoughts?

IMHO you should definitely jump up to the 8100 or even grab a 8350 refurb or used online. You aren't just getting 1080p you're getting a TON of other features as well. multiple hdmi connections, quieter operation, ridiculously flexible installation choice, 2x zoom, better blacks. both the 8100 and 8350 have most of these advantages. I'm sure that if you can swing it financially you won't regret it.
