HI all, I just purchased the BenQ w710st 3d ready DLP projector. I understand this projector do not accept 1.4hdmi , and I understand this projector needs something like 3d-xl converter to play 3d bluray from PS3 or externa bluray player. But i do not intend to do that, I will only use my HTPC for 3d movies.
So guys I need your help here, can you tell me what do I need in order to play MKV files, bluray, or ISO in 3D from my htpc? Some says I need the Optoma 3d-xl, some says I need Nvidia 3d Vision, some even says I dont need both I only need a working pair of DPI Link 3d Glasses.

I plan to play 3d games from my htpc as well, so can I do that without the 3d-xl box? I will be only using the htpc and not ps3,xbox or other things

I can't help you specifically, but the first step is to determine what graphics card is in your htpc and whether your cpu can handle the 3d load. Only then can you determine how it's going to interact with your display (projector). In the HTPC forum, there is a thread specifically about building a 3d htpc. You might want to read there to see if you are on the right track.
