I'm finally retiring and moving back to the states. Getting a house and am looking for a projector with the following features:

Low input lag, fast enough to play FPS
Capable to drive a 120" screen or larger in a darkness controlled room.
1080p
don't really care about 3D
no DLP color wheels or other rainbow artifacts
I would prefer this to cost under $3K, but I don't mind an early Christmas
Room size will be approx 20x20x10 feet, and I will be able to ceiling mount it anywhere needed to line up and meet the 120" zoom requirement and center alignment.

Lastly, should I wait for some projectors coming out in the near future for new technology (laser, etc)?

Thank you for your help. I've been sifting through review sites and forums, but with the wife knowing that a giant screen is in her future, the pressure is on. She loves playing Borderlands 2 on our 60" plasma, but wants to "go big".

Does that mean you don't want to consider DLP?

Laser is still a ways out, "at that price" for a nice pj, unless you want a $9000 Christmas? Couple new models are hitting soon, and I'd give it a little time to see what improvements will be. Few "lag" discussions floating around if you want to search for 'em if that's an important feature.

BTW, Welcome back and grats on retirement
