So it finally died after almost four years and 5800 hours. (Actually kept it on high power and high altitude - for fast fan speed - until it started cutting out about 1500 hours ago, at which point I added an external vortex computer case fan to the intake and switched to low power. Now it cuts off after about 15-30 min)

I've looked into the CORRECT replacement bulb and it seems to be the OEM Phoenix SHP 69 HG lamp. They run about 125 for the cheapest one I can find with a warranty.

So the question is:

Is it worth it to replace the lamp in this 720p projector.
A projector that isn't very bright...
And that has a terribly big need for distance to throw a large image...

Or should I ditch the thing, get what I can out of it, and upgrade to something else? (Two what?) Budget would be whatever I could sell this projector for + about 300 bucks, so maybe $650-ish?
