I tried looking for a thread about this projector and haven't found one.. so started this.

I tried this projector out.. here's a sample.. 10' wide image

That was a DVD with hdmi at 1080p.

The only issue I seen was that even at night with like 0 ambient light, the real dark content had no contrast, and a lot of detail was lost, just showing black. A couple of movies you couldn't see what was going on at all.. harry potter ones were especially bad.
I think since our walls are not a "screen" color (white/grey) but a light neutral brown it may have affected it, as well as the distance of the projector from the wall. While it made the screen bigger, it wasn't as bright.
I adjusted the gamma and such but it only made the blacks lighter, not actually separating them.

Would an actual screen/paint resolve that? Or is it just too far from the image and it would need to be closer (shrinking the nice size)?

And are there other projectors that are ultrashort throws that you recommend? I don't want the interactive whiteboard part of it, at 1500+ it's kind of a lot.

Thanks for the input!

(you can see our dwarfed tv there.. 27" lol)
