Hello,

I will try to make this as brief as possible. I purchased a used Epson 8500UB earlier this year. Upon start up, the provided bulb blew. I ended up purchasing an off name bulb from Amazon that had decent reviews. I am currently having two issues, one of which I will address in this post. There seems to be a double image, most explicit with white texts on a black background (picture provided). Is this a projector issue, bulb issue, or a settings issue? I am extremely incompetent when it comes to projectors. Any basic help would be VERY much appreciated. Thank you!

Anyone? The distance between the projector and screen is only about 8 - 9 feet. Could proximity be causing this?

That looks like a convergence problem you have.

+1. Bulb only affects brightness and color.

Not sure if there is an option to adjust pixel alignment with the Epson.

Good luck.

This has nothing to due with the bulb. If you bought this used with a return I would do so. If not try adjusting the lense shift with the test cross hatch screen on and see if it helps. The only other thing is to tweek the pannels into alignment. ( I have done this with a 6100) but unless your very skilled in electronics and handy with optics You should't attempt this. This could have been caused by rough handling in shipping or it was like that when shipped. Also never by a non OEM bulb for this projector its to much of a gamble.

Smart enough to know better, to old to care
