I know this is probably a long shot on this older projector, but thought i'd toss it out there anyway,,, I recently purchased a used Epson EMP-TW1000 for a "home theater on a shoestring" project. The PJ deal came with a screen, ceiling mount and cables.
We tested the projector at the sellers home - looked fine. When i got it home and set up, i noticed some "texture" on the image. I initially thought it was staining or spots on the screen, but it appears to be dust or something in the light path of the PJ. It's a horizontal band of translucent spots about midway across the screen.
I removed the lamp and cleaned in that area - and it needed to be cleaned. I cleaned the filter. The lens looks fine. So far this has not helped.
Anyway... does anyone have some advice to get inside the projector to clean the light path? A service manual?
