I can watch 10 movies in a row and think nothing of it.

How long can I use the projector before letting it cool down?

I watched a double feature and that sucker was hot.

As long as you want to. Yes they get hot, that's normal. Sports bars run them all day. That's about 16 hours every day. As long as you make sure the vents are cleaned periodically so it can breathe, you're fine.

FWIW, every sports bar i've been to outside work and all the projectors I installed in sports bars had external fans in addition to the internal equipment. A $5 PC fan can be wired into the USB port and screwed on the outside grate to provide a little extra cooling power.

I can see where that might help, but all the sports bars I take care of (9), do not have external fans.

I have had mine on several times for over 12 hours on a Sunday football marathon without issue. I have the Epson 8350.

THANKS everyone. This is an expensive piece of equipment for us, and I'd hate to kill the life span because I can't stop watching.

The PC Fan you're talking about is it for laptops? A friend showed me a flat panel the size of a laptop that's just two fans and he said I could put the projector on top of it to help with the cooling.

I'm going to watch Shelby Lynne Live in England LOUD!!!! biggrin.gif

A lot of where you put the extra cooling depends on where the inlet and exhaust is for the PJ. If it is a front or rear exhaust putting a PJ on a cooling mat will make little difference.
