that I had nailed down before looking into all this again, then I noticed this
. About a year or two ago, it seemed like the consensus was that the Epson 8350 was the king in the sub $3k range, but it didn't even receive a mention there. Have things changed (in the same class, budget ~$1500-2000)?
A bit about my layout, wants:
Throw distance will be roughly 16', looking to throw somewhere around 120". The room has windows that will be covered with blackout drapes, so little to no ambient light will be there. Lights are on dimmers for full control. Walls will be painted a dark-ish color, thinking gray or maybe chocolate (open to suggestions there).
1080p is a must, but I think that is pretty standard now. 3D isn't necessary, and would prefer not to pay for it if possible. Usage would be probably 60% movies/10% TV/30% Video games. Perhaps even more on the movie side, but quick response times would be nice for games.
I *do* enjoy the blacks of a plasma, and I know that I won't get that here but the reviews on the JVC deep blacks have me wondering... am I behind and about to settle for an out of date model, or is it still that good and just didn't get mentioned?
