Projector for around 1k that can produce 110" screen with only 10-10.5 foot distance...

My room is only 11 foot long and has a false wall and wont have more then 10-10.5 feet distance between the screen and the projector. Is this possible ? And if so, with what projector, and I need 1080p.

Thanks to everyone who replys!

I think most any 2x zoom LCDs will do this for you. Look into the Epson and Panasonic projectors in your price range.

Have you sat 10 feet from 110" before? It works just fine for some but It isn't for everyone.

don't confuse zoom ratio (smallest/largest image at given distance) with throw ratio (projector distance/image width). "short throw" projectors have large images at short distances. zoom is irrelevant.

the epson 8350 from 10' can project an image from 48" to 102" (zoom ratio of 2.1)
the optoma gt750 from 10' projects an image of 194" and has no zoom at all

throw ratio

a 110" screen is 96" wide so 120/96 = 1.25 most projectors start at 1.33 or higher... a 102" screen may be your best option

also, since your lens will be lettign the most light through, so picture will be brightest, and contrast least. something else to consider in your choice

I got really excited when you sent me this pj until I realized it was 720p frown.gif

I will go with a 102" screen I guess. Any suggestions on a nice 1080p projector that can make a 102" from 10 feet away? Also, I have a ceiling fan, so It will me ceiling mounted but lower then normal.

I like the Epson 8350 but it cuts into my screen budget a bit.

oh sorry, i just cut and pasted that example from another thread.. coderguy has a great thread about projector recommendations for all ranges, check those out and use the calculator to make sure the size, offset and brightness will work in your room. for a 8' viewing distance, ~100" will be a nice image.good luck. the new benq 1070 has an ST version coming out, but i think it lacks lens shift. projectors are all about priorities and tradeoffs for your unique location.

Been reading on coderguys topics but he doesnt have a lot of info for the under 1k price range. Most of his stuff is around 2k.

Did I mention it will be PITCH BLACK in this room.

You cannot go wrong with the Epson 8350. I love mine, the picture quality is amazing. And their customer service is outstanding.

Ugg.... Waiting for house sale to go through but I had a question Im pretty sure I know the answer to but I thought I would ask.

Is it even feasible to get 2 rows of seats here? If I know the screen size to 90" or so?
