After the W1070 success story, here come the BenQ W1400. It's a 3D version of the W1200

I know that the W1400 will be available on the European Market on september 2013 for a price around 1199 euros

Wow, BenQ is on fire. I wonder if it will have a DC3 chip (should have logically thinking) and would FI be the only difference between it and W1070.

Do you know if the focal length will be the same as the w1200 ?
It's the problem with the w1070 and my room ...

My guess is that the W1400 will not offer Wireless HDMI.

Here is another view of the W1500 in white

http://recplay.pl/index.php?n=492&benq-w1500

the site states the w1500 can convert 2D images to 3D.

Looks like a better fit for me than the W1070. Now I need to see if the W7000 gets an upgrade

BenQ W1070 vs W1400 biggrin.gif
Quote:
Availability of the frame interpolation (smooth motion in fast scenes)
2 times more powerful built-in speakers
Big zoom and vertical lens shift
Presence in the model W1500 Wireless HDMI
Most importantly - the ability to display 3D with frequency 144Gts

The latter function is known, so far, only in professional theatrical projectors. It completely eliminates the single-frame flicker, and for films made with the same high frequency, ideally reproduces smooth movement even in fast scenes.

Projectors positioned as a budget, but from a technical point of view for the full "top-end" they lack only the functions simulated contrast, ie dynamic aperture of the lamp for dark scenes.

What is 3D with frequency 144Gts? Is this similar to 144htz?

Has the release date changed on this? I saw somewhere that the W1500 was suppose to come out in March which obviously isnt happening. If its coming out soon then i may wait, otherwise i am going to go with the W1070

my main question concerning these projectors is contrast.
http://www.cinetson.org/phpBB3/download/file.php?id=24147&sid=854aff00be5a243fa09d7b6365da4586&mode=view
has the specs and the contrast of the w7000 is 5 times the w1070 or w1500. Just wondering if the picture is that much better. On a price comparison the W7000 will cost about the same amount as a w1500 when it comes out. If you don't need the wifi then which is the better one to grab?

The w1400 would be the best direct comparison to the w7000 as both do not have wif (1400 is the 1500 with no wifi)i. Just wondering if there is anyone who has a good idea about the difference in the picture quality between the w7000 and the w1070 as if the w1500 is a similar picture then we could start to decide if it worth waiting for the w1500 or buy the w7000. I do like the extra throw distance for me so I would be more for the w1400 or w1500 then w1070 so just curious as to which might be better for picture w7000 and w1400/w1500.

I have seen both and I prefer the W1500 picture, native contrast is better on the new one (almost 4000:1 at D65).

I thought the 1500 and 1400 have the same lens off set as the 1070 and not the 7000??
Hope I was wrong as I would really like to have either 1500 or 1400 shelf mounted for a HP screen.

Any info on the lens shift and offset for the W1400/W15000? Are they the same as the W1070?

Both lens-shift on W1500 and W1070 as a very small vertical range, maybe a little bit more for the W1500 but tinny.

I'm also interested in the W1400 but I haven't seen anything about it being released other than it being listed on the BenQ global website. At time I write this post, the W1400 is not shown on BenQ US website so not sure if this means it won't be available here.

FWIW, I just called BenQ and was informed the W1400 was not scheduled to be released here in the US and there was no roadmap for the W1300 release here either.
