Looking for a starting point for custom setting. Just looking for a better setting for color (skin tones) and a little better picture in dark scenes. So if some of you could post the settings you use for watching movies It would really help. Thanks in advance..

There are a lot of things to take into consideration. The room you are in, how big a screen, they type of screen, and there might be slight differences in each unit.

But , this is a great thread, because we can get ball park settings.

I've mentioned it before, in our regular PA70G thread, do the "picture wizard II' setup stuff, then place a hdtv next to 70G and watch the same recorded tv/movie at exact same time, and adjust settings on PJ until it's as good as the hdtv. I did that, and it looked amazing. If you don't have that reference hdtv screen, hard to tell how it's suppose to look, and the camera work in the movie might not look good, so having both set side by side, you can see , "oh, the hdtv picture on that scene looks like crap, so of course it will look like crap on the PJ". smile.gif

Also, maybe people can post 3D settings that make the 70G POP. smile.gif

I just posted my settings in the other LG thread but I think it would be easier to find in this one since there aren't 1000 posts to go thru. We should keep this thread for only settings. Here are mine:

Saved under Picture Mode: Expert 1
Contrast 85
Brightness 50
H Sharpness 80
V Sharpness 90
Color 40
Tint G25

Expert Control
Everything Off
Black Level High
Color Filter Off
Color Temperature Medium
Gamma 2.2
Method 2 Points
All contrast 0
All Color Management 0

I'll be doing a full pro-level calibration on my unit in the near future and if it calibrates out well (depends on just how functional the CMS is) I'll be happy to share the full calibration that includes the grey scale and CMS.

Please do keep in mind however that sharing settings like this is a crapshoot due to so many variables (tolerances, room, screen) and thus using perfect settings from one unit is not likely to be perfect on another. wink.gif

Merry Christmas!

Spent some calibration time on the PA70G and on my unit Green is not correctable and is a good bit away from being accurate at full power (regardless of presets & settings while using Expert mode).

It appears this is how they are getting the extra lumen's out of this model, by boosting green.

Cyan is a bit off as well but the rest of the primaries and secondaries fall mostly into place.

The 2.2 Gamma preset is fairly accurate across the scale and greyscale can come out great with the 10 point. Warm color temp is close to 6500K (my unit = 6496K post cal).

That's all I have time for at the moment but wanted to share some findings, happy holidays.

Jason

Thanks alot DaGamePimp for sharing calibration smile.gif

IMO nothing left to dig about this projector in this forum ( focusing issue, color setting, ...etc )
All we can do wait next year and hope for 1080p good color no focusing issues with affordable price ( again your wallet should spit the gut ) and so on tongue.gif

at the end with the money we throw we got a good PJ with all faults on it biggrin.gif

You bought 3 PA70G's and all are in focus. Or you returned 2 of them and this is your 3rd one. Figured I would ask. smile.gif
If you have 3 of them, are you doing a special setup?
3 of these equal one mits hc4000? smile.gif
