I have a setup with a ScreenPlay 5000, and a Onkyo HT-R520. The colors on the menu of the ScreenPlay look fine, but when I view an HD image some of the colors are too bright. For example, I was watching a basketball game that had a yellow floor. It made my mouth sour it was so bright.
I am wondering if it could be the cables, or perhaps a firmware upgrade would help. Each will require that I purchase a cable or two so I wanted to ask first.
The cables were pre-installed in my house and are three coax cables with a run of about 35feet. On each end I put an RCA(Red, Green, Blue) connector and get a picture. Would I be better off getting a real (RGB Video YPrPb) cable and hooking that from my projector to my receiver? I have checked the connects many times and everything is solidly connected. Perhaps coax is not the best cable for this job?
Secondly, my projector is at the this level of firmware:
If someone thinks I should also update the firmware, can you please tell me where I can download it? I looked online and at infocus.com and can't seem to find it. Also, if you can confirm the exact cable I would need it would be much appreciated. I see infocus sells something for about $60. I was hoping I could pick it up on ebay for much less.
Thanks in advance.
