I read all your reviews and I like them more than other reviewers. I meant 3D on DLP projectors can perform better with better glasses and calibration, to match RF 3D quality, just guessing.

the color doesn't justify 250 euros difference in the price?

The RF transmitter and 3D glasses are omitted on the HD131, included on the HD 25.

My HD 131x arrived moments ago. It was double boxed from Amazon.co.uk. No damage. But is quite cold so will have to wait for it to warm up. May need a different mount eerrrrr.... Will send pics later. Should there be a combo thread for HD25/HD131x ? Or separate. Only difference is the color and the RF glasses included on the HD25. Took 54 hours to get to Wisconsin,USA from Great Britain. Not bad.........

I can not tell how much i wait for your mini review, but it would be best if few people could compare it with benq w1070, i am sooo tempted.... Because i saw hd25 in action (only for 30mins), but still want to hear few more opinions... especialy when compared to benq (which i almoust bought)... I also watched avatar 3d in that demo, but with zd201 glasses which are DLP link, i can only imagine how would it look with zf2100 (RF), i think better, brighter ? What do you say?
Also, one think i dont understand from Krain is that this projector is very loud.... On other hand i can tell it is almoust whispery quiet!! And i have really god hearing... Strange.

Looking everywhere for reviews but nothing, neither one major (english) review site doesnt have it.... frown.gif and if hd25 beats w1070 in terms of PQ, like black color, better 3d, will definetly buy it.. Cant wait!

Just got it mounted. Not perfect yet. Need to bring the right side down a bit. But boy o boy 1080p is like night and day difference to 720p. Watching CBS news and WOW.... Still on factory presets and a great picture. Will fine tune tomorrow. The fan noise ? What ? It came preset on BRIGHT did not know this and I thought it was on the eco mode. Nope.....Then turned it on to eco mode and it is like a whisper not your normal fan noise. Very impresive. I had the acer 5360 and Mits 1000u this is quieter. That French guy who said the fan noise was 42db must've had one too many bottles of their wine. I drink Wisconsin beer Lienenkugel's and the fan noise or sound is very quiet . Will watch 3D later but it's pizza night tonight so see ya....pics to follow... and built like a @#$# brickhouse.. So far so good. More to follow,

I also have 720p (Infocus x9) projector, and yes difference is like night and day smile.gif Not only "French guy" said it is loud but half of other people on one french forum (i used translator) and almoust all of them where crying about how loud it is... There are two possibilities, either French people has some superhuman hearing or their firmware is some older one... or third, faulty unit?
The one i saw and heard in that demo presentation was i will repeat, super quiet, i almoust asked them if it is turned on (and obviously it was smile.gif)!
Looking forward for more from you, and enjoy wink.gif

yes if I recall it supports DLP-Link and I think IR as well, at least the HD33 did so I would assume so would the HD25.

since my H79 just died on me (damn, and I even had a spare lamp laying around), I'm looking around for a new projector..

Anyone know how well this HD131x (the black version of the HD25) compares in colors/RBE to the old H79 (yes I can imagine it will rock in resolution), and how is the light leakage, as it has a lot of grills..

And what I find weird about the google translated review of the HD25 is that it states it doesn't have focus.. that can't be right now can it? and also no manual zoom at all? so do you have to move the projector to fill the screen?

Also what's the difference between the HD25 an the HD25LV?

Well all good things come to an end. Got this up and running and with less than 4 hours on it,the 131x has shut down abrubtly with no warning.mad.gif This has happened 5 times. It just shuts down. No fan cool down just OFF. Tried to turn it back on but would not go. Had to unplug it and wait several minutes and plug back in and then it would fire back up. One time I had to do this operation several times for it to stay on. Gets very old. This is not what I want in a new projector. Apparently Optoma has problems as much as Benq does. If this keeps on happening looks like it goes back to Amazon and let Optoma try to get this worked out. Maybe Optoma released this to early.mad.gif Started to be so good with such high hopes. Got it aligned so good on my Firehawk too... Don't really want to wait for a fix.. Other brands to check out too...

Does Optoma plan to offer any 1080p short throw models. Will any of these be sold in the U.S?

Don't worry, this is certainly a faulty projector he has, and it won't get better for him.. There are others who also bought the thing and didn't have any problems with it.. And hee, otherwise just send it back and get your money back as it certainly is a faulty product being delivered.. You should certainly get a new replacement and not having go through the 'oh we'll send it to repair'..

I have just ordered the Optoma HD131x (the black version of the HD25), all I worrie about is the noise it will make and the lightleakage through the vents.. I certainly don't understand why they wouldn' just drop the speakers and use the money for sound/lightproofing the bugger, it can't be that much extra money to do it and people would still buy it even if it would up the price a few bucks..

The only difference between the hd25 and the hd131x is the lack of OPTOMA ZF2100 3D GLASSES + Emitter. this set costs around 120 euros. were is the extra 130 euros?? its odd!
Just to make sure, I can buy this kit separately and connect it to the hd131x, right?
Do you also know if I can use the rf glasses and dlp link glasses together(if I have 2 dlp and 1 rf)?

i see that amazon.co.uk has the HD131 but since members from the U.S. are thinking about getting this, wouldn't you need a plug adapter to have this properly work here in the U.S.?

no thats not a difference, because hd25 doesnt come with any glass or glasses!! where have you read different i would like to know. Even optoma on their official page doesnt tell anything about glasses included in the box, or out of the box.

Still no reviews ? I cant find any mad.gif

I think i will go with benq w1070, there must be reason why it is so popular and this optoma is nowhere and noone mentioning it anywhere on the whole WWW. Tells something.

after reading a few posts about this and the HD131,a few things to consider after speaking to optoma reps from the U.S.
the warranty will have to be covered in Europe and not the U.S. if you purchased it from amazon co.uk
also,if i may have missed it in the previous posts, the HD25 will be released here in the U.S. next month in April.this was confirmed by a rep from Optoma.
