Do you know what will be the max throw rate for these projectors? 1.5:1?

You better wait for the W1500 Review (similar to the W1400 but with WHDI). The W1500 will be available in May and the W1400 not before September.

The framing of your images keeps making me think it's a flip out viewfinder for a camcorder or something...

It will be interesting to see how this compares to the W1070... I like almost everything about the 1070 besides the limit to dlp link glasses... with RF glasses I hope this is compatible with the cheap samsung 3d active glasses and none of the dlp link red flash worries..

Monster Gold Plated Optical Cables: http://monstercable.com/productPage.asp?pin=1263

Awesome user review: "Unreal quality. Sounded like I upgraded my speakers." :D

It has longer throw than W1070 (1.50 - 1.8:1) which may appeal to some people. And RF glasses are better for 3D than DLP-link.
20000:1 dynamic contrast looks impressive on paper, we'll see if it's usable. 8000 hours on lamp too.

But you know what's strange. Judging by W1070 example, chromatic aberrations and fringing always seem to be near perfect with Kraine's samples and rarely so with serial units.

This is listed on the Optoma website (Europe) at:
http://www.optomaeurope.com/projectordetailshccs.aspx?ShowMenu=HE&PTypedb=Home%20Entertainment&PC=HD25

The manual in English is there.

The contrast is high with the dynamic black
"Dynamic Black
Dynamic black smoothly adjusts the lamp output automatically, based on the brightness information of each frame; to create a stunning 20,000:1 contrast ratio. Bright scenes are crisp and clear, while dark scenes remain detailed with deep blacks which gives exceptional light and shade detail. "

The question is will dynamic black drive you crazy with flickering like their earlier attemps (HD 70 is what I have). I am waiting for Kraines review.

Robert

Dynamic Black is offered on the BenQ W1070 as SmartEco, I believe.

I agree, if flicker is the price to pay for deeper blacks then its not a good enough option including that activating it makes the unit much noisier upon krain on french cineston.
