I've been having problems with an Epson projector for a while, and customer service said they would replace it with a 5020, except that there are no 5020 refurbs available yet. Does anyone know when they should be out? I originally thought that refurb units would be available shortly after people start sending in their defective units, but I suppose not.

I don't have a dealer, I bought an 8700UB online at Visual Apex. The reason they gave me a 6010 and not a 5010 is because I didn't want to lose the THX mode. I asked Visual Apex when they will start carrying 5020-R/6020-R units, and they told me in about a year. I assume that will be long after Epson starts putting refurb units into circulation for exchanges, naturally.

So you think a 3rd Epson is going to fix all the Epson problems you have been having? Why do you think there is such a refurb market for Epson?
Another 6010 won't make you happy?

Visual Apex is your dealer.

Good luck.

Yes, the R stands for Refurb. And a 6020 might indeed make me happier, since it's lag time is closer to the 8700 I originally had.
